A Specialist Healthcare Training Institute
HCI trains the next generation of care professionals — people who combine genuine empathy with real clinical capability. We focus on one thing and do it well: preparing our students for meaningful, in-demand careers in New Zealand's care sector.
A campus that feels like the real thing
Our campus replicates a modern healthcare facility. From your very first day, you're learning in the environment you'll actually work in — realistic simulation spaces with hospital-style beds and care equipment, where you practise real techniques safely before you ever go on placement.
Between classes, relax in our student dining and common areas — good spaces to eat, study and get to know your classmates.
Getting here: we're right in the Panmure town centre — easy by car, bus, train or bicycle.
Strong ties to New Zealand's care sector
Great training doesn't happen in a classroom alone. HCI maintains strong relationships across New Zealand's care sector, giving our students supervised practical placements in real care environments — including within the Kauri Care network.
That network is growing: Kauri Care Group is investing in new facility developments, and every new facility needs qualified, work-ready care professionals. Training at HCI means training for a sector that is expanding around you.
Graduates may be considered for employment opportunities within the Kauri Care network, subject to vacancies, employer requirements and right-to-work eligibility.
